It’s the same story now, what it was 3-4 Years earlier ? Now If you want to book Rail ticket in hurry you need not to wait much and chances are there that you would be getting it.
Indian Railways has reduced the Tatkal Reservation booking scheme to 24 Hours from two Days.
This steps is taken under the extreme pressure of misuse of Tatkal Rail Ticket Mis Use by Rail Broker and Agents.
It is also decided to continue the restriction on agent for Tatkal booking and it is further extended from one hour to two hours i.e. 8 am to 10 am (Not very clear whether this restriction is for Online Ticket Booking also).
No refund will be paid on confirmed Tatkal tickets subject to the exceptions like cancellation of trains or Train running Late.
New restriction also implemented on the Tatkal booking like
1. Tatkal tickets will be booked only after producing the identity proof at booking counter
2. Maximum of four passengers can travel or their tickets are booked on One PNR in Tatkal tickets.
3. If you have lost your tatkal tickets then No duplicate will be issued and If it would be done in very exceptional cases like health or senior citizen, women on payment of full fare including Tatkal charges.
So, Get Ready to face the challange of Indian railways. These are the good steps taken by Indian railways but Do they succeed in curbing Agents ? Let’s see.
