Whether IRCTC really accepting Credit cards and debit cards of all the bank while booking tickets through their website or apps. There are many instances appeared and known, when the Debit Cards of particular bank doesn’t appear on the payment gateway page of IRCTC website or application hence cause unnecessary problem to person who is booking tickets. Although Ministry of Railways has clarified that “No debit or credit card of any bank has been restricted by the IRCTC for acceptance on any of the gateway… Debit/Credit cards of all banks are accepted on any payment gateway. No truth in news of having blocked any card of any bank“.
There were lot of complained regarding not showing the particular bank on payment gateways option of IRCTC website. Earlier it was rumored that IRCTC had barred certain banks from using its payment gateway for debit card transactions.

One of the leading Media report says that “Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has reportedly banned several banks from using its payment gateway for debit cards transactions as the lenders denied to share the convenience fees charged from customers with IRCTC”.
IRCTC or Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation accepts payment through seven payment gateways for domestic debit and credit cards and direct integration to some banks as value added service to for the convenience of its passengers. The list of bank included in the payment gateways are ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Citi Bank, Axis Bank, Paytm, PayU and ITZ Cash. Payment gateway of American Express Bank is integrated for Amex Card and of Kotak Bank for accepting Rupay Cards. IRCTC also accepts international Debit/Credit cards through the payment gateway of M/s Atom.

There is no payment gateways integrated with Public sector bank’s on IRCTC official webpage or apps.
