Cutoff Analysis For RBI Officers Grade B Written Exam

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recruitment of Officers in Grade B written test for prelims was just concluded on 18th of this month. Question asked in the e

xam were lengthy and many candidates who had taken the exam shared that cutoff would go lower this time.

After analyzing the hundred visitors expected marks, we have reached to the point that the cutoff of English and Quantitative Aptitude will be deciding.

These were two different papers where almost every one had scored poorly, I mean below expected. In my view the cutoff for RBI Prelims for Quant would be near about 14 marks for General Candidates, where as for English it will be as low as 9.

Almost every candidates have scored well in General Awareness , because there were much time to

score and question were also easy. General Awareness Cutoff would be little higher and It will be around 35 Marks. Reasoning will be average type for every one and any one who had scored around 37+ would be in comfortable zone.

Overall the cutoff will be something like as mentioned below :

English 9
Quant 14
Reasoning 37
GK 35

Your response are welcome !!! GOOD LUCK…

  2. well,i do agree with u because this time RBI didnot give any so called traditional questions in maths and reasoning.I have attempted around 20 PO exams (including last 2 RBI pre exams),this time it was horribly difficult in reasoning ,maths ,english.it is really very difficult to claim our accuracy in this exam.It was difficult to continue in firing mode.Speed breakers were too much,it got very difficult to gain momentum. So,i agree with ur cutoff.but still fingers crossed.

  3. Thank you tapan and gaurav. your analysis gives me a ray of hope. as the time crunch for aptitude was not like
    before.

  4. Dear Raj,

I really don't agree with the sectional cut off provided. All sectional cutoff only adds up to 95.

On basis of the new pattern RBI followed this this time, overall cutoff will be around 90 to 96.

I believe sectional cut off will be as follows:

    QA: 7 – 8.5

    Eng: 11-13

    Reasoning: 22-24

    GA: 24-27

    • Hi Raj,

Based on discussion with some of my friends who wrote RBI exam this year, the cut-off will be as follows:

      Aggregate: 93-96

      GA 22 – 24

      QA 6-7

      Eng 10-11

      LR 12-14

This is based on comparison with last year cut off as well as taking into consideration the changed pattern.

      Regards,
      Gaurav
