SBI Card Pay, How to Make Cardless Payment With Phone ?

SBI Cards has launched the SBI Card Pay, which will allow the instant payment with Smartphone at merchant locations. It’s Tap & pay services, where one can make payment up to Rs 5000 without PIN and just with the tap of Smartphone. In order to get this services, the users of the SBI Cards need to register first. Follow the below steps to register for this service.

The payment is made following the NFC technology for contactless payment that is carried out by using a smartphone at NFC enabled Point of Sale (POS) machines. You can transact up to Rs. 25,000 in a day (max. capping of up to Rs. 5,000 per transaction).

What is NFC?

Near Field Communication or NFC is a method of wirelessly transmitting data using radio waves. Tap to Pay uses NFC to wirelessly transmit payment data to payment terminals with NFC readers that have been activated for use. The payment information is transmitted in an encrypted format making the transaction completely secure.

How to Register For SBI Card Pay ?

You can follow the below steps to register your Credit Card for this feature:

  • Download the latest version of the SBI Card App from Playstore
  • Log into SBI Card App and click on the ‘SBI Card Pay’ icon present at the bottom of screen
  • Select the SBI Card that you wish to register, agree to the SBI Card Terms & Conditions and click on the ‘Link Card’ button

On successful registration, you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number.

How To Pay using SBI Card Pay?

You can follow the below steps to pay using the feature:

  • Open the SBI Card Mobile App
  • Click on the ‘SBI Card Pay’ icon on the pre-login page or on the account summary page that appears after you have logged into your account
  • Select the Card  & click on the ‘PAY’ button
  • Tap the device on the NFC enabled POS machine
  • On successful payment, you will receive a payment confirmation SMS on your registered mobile number

You can also make payments without opening the SBI Card App. Just unlock the mobile device and tap on the NFC enabled merchant’s POS machine to make the payment. Also Read – How To Increase SBI Credit Card Limit Online ?

How To Remove SBI Card Pay feature?

You can follow the below steps to de-link your SBI Card from this feature:

  • Open SBI Card App & login to your account
  • Click on the App Settings and click on the ‘SBI Card Pay’ button
  • Select the SBI Card that you wish to de-link
  • Press on ‘DELINK’ button
