PSU Government Bank will work for Five days in a week as like other Private and Government Institute. Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has re considered the demand of Banking employees.
Although it was the same proposal which was rejected by the Union government on the baseless argument that the public’s service of state-run banks would be further deteriorate. The Union has decided to put the demand for reconsideration of Five Days Banking to the next new government by IBA after the general elections.
The Union’s demand argue in favor of 5 days banking with
[box type=”info” ]1. Current Technological infrastructure i.e. ATM, Internet Banking, Phone Banking etc would allow individuals to conduct banking transactions on weekends. 2. It will bring more transparency in financial banking system as cash transactions will be reduced and encourage customers to use more of electronic channels for their banking needs. 3.Productivity of the Staff will be improve 4. It will reduce the cost and help in improving profitability 5. International banking system is already running it successfully[/box]
RBI’s employee union already supports the demand after saying that Banker’s are highly stressed than other segment of industry.The Reserve Bank of India, central and state governments, and companies in the public sector work for (only) five days a week.
